Nylon thread my beloved! I love crocheting with nylon, it’s how I learned to crochet so it has a special place in my heart. That said, it’s pretty tough to find nylon thread/yarn anywhere else but Joann or Amazon. Nylon is a tough thread, similar to rope. The thread I am referring to is 100% nylon crochet thread, there are variations of it that are much softer but are not 100% nylon.
It is best for making bags, purses, and hair pieces that will last. I would not recommend making clothes with it, but I’ve also never tried to before. Crocheting with nylon requires a different hook, a much smaller one, anywhere from 0.5 mm to 1.4mm in size. The yarn is 100% nylon and does a fair bit of damage to the fingers and skin, causing aches, cramps, and blisters if you’re not careful(So be mindful of your crochet stamina). Much like with other yarns and thread, it takes acquiring stamina. However, it’s not much different from your normal crocheting, it’s the same knots and movements. If you have the chance to try it out, do. Don’t be afraid, and if this entry has piqued your interest I will link a couple of sources below for materials below!
